To improve the manoeuvrability performance of a full spade rudder and to avoid cavition Becker has developed the so called “Twisted” Rudder. This rudder is designed with a hollow profile and a fishtail at the trailing edge. The extend of a fishtail is only half of the extend of conventional types.
According to the direction of the turning propeller the fixed wedges of the upper and lower rudder part are fitted asymetrically to the rudder in way of the propeller axis. |
